It’ll be very unlikely to happen - it may seem a popular idea by the Tories right now who need something for their supporters to rally behind - and it’ll be a good, though hypocritical, move for the Tory readers of the Mail, S*n and Express.

It’s similar to that router idea which would ban porn that the UK Govt had a couple of years ago - before they were told it was unworkable and the public found out that a large Tory donor would be the making most of the routers?

What is porn and what is art?
What will the appeal process be? - and how much will the regulatory body cost to fund? how quick will the regulatory body be to ease access to Barnados, NSPCC and other websites dealing, helping and educating in sex abuse and other sites mistakenly listed (as in that router opt in/out farce?)?
How about sites that aren’t listed as mainly porn sites but do contain some - or little amount of ‘porn’ material?
a vpn will simply get around this UK ban - even a chrome extension. 'Cos kids are useless with tech…

Smaller ISP’s in the UK even still allow access to banned torrent sites - so how will the Govt force them to do this? I doubt the Govt has a list of all the ISPs in the UK…
Storing financial details (if credit card ID) of customers on a porn site isn’t the best idea - and could make them a target for hackers/blackmailers etc - let alone the idea of trusting financial information with untrusted companies (and employees)… are the FCA going to be involved too? 😉
and for 16-17 years olds - you can legally have sex - but you can’t watch others have sex online? Even for education, or ideas etc…
and finally - no kid is ever going to get hold of their parent’s credit card info are they…
(and that’s IF the Tories can get this through and made law - which is unlikely - seems to be posturing and preaching to their converted)
