Shouldn’t this be in the merchandise board?

Ordered this from the UK several weeks ago, finally got it today.

I thought I was getting the edition that included The Freedon Nadd Uprising, but this was the earlier edition minus that storyline. Kinda disappointed on that front, but still, I’ve been dying to add physical copies of the Tales of the Jedi comics to my shelf for years now; in that regard, I’m happy.

Cheap Walmart replica of the 97 SE release poster for ANH. If there’s one good thing to come from the SE’s, it’s the poster art.

Last night I ordered this rather splendid TFA poster from the Pixel Empire.

I got a 15% discount thanks to Caddicarus! And it comes with a free BB-8 poster too!

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Not actually a new buy, but I found these guys while going through some old boxes today.

I believe the Chewie was my uncle’s in the 70s, and the Vader is mine from the 90s or early 00s.

^Nice. A couple months back I went through my old SW toys as a sort of nostalgia trip and found FOUR of that exact Darth Vader toy (in addition to at least six or seven other Vader toys from different lines). Little me really dug that dark lord of the sith.

Chewie’s lack of pants is really apparent there.

Also, Vader is super buff.

Yeah, most of the 90s figures are like that. They’ve got a Tarkin figure from around then at the comic shop I go to that’s absolutely ripped.

Emabbarassed to even post this, but Moms will be Moms. Since my birthday coincided near the release of TFA and for the first time in 38 years a SW movie was playing in the theatre, she decided I was still 8 yrs old and got this for me. Gotta love your Moms.

I’ve just returned from a trip to the US and this is all of the SW stuff I bought during my stay there.

Imgur

It’s not that I can’t find SW stuff in Scandinavia, but since it’s all new and imported it costs a lot more than random thrift shop finds in the US. Plus finding these kinds of things in thrift shops in Norway is rare to the point of never happening. Also the old Marvel SW comics are simply straight up impossible to find (unless you count the translated versions, which I do own most of), so those are the ones I’m the most happy about getting.

Star Wars is Surrealism, not Science Fiction (essay)
Original Trilogy Documentaries/Making-Ofs (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. finds)
Beyond the OT Documentaries/Making-Ofs (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. finds)

The last Star Wars thing I bought was a 99 cent used copy of the 1995 VHS box set.

EDIT: That was almost three years ago and I don’t plan on buying anything else in the near future.

EDIT2: Or the distant future for that matter.

God damn, all that came from a few goodwill stores? I wish we had better ones near me.

Not enough people read the EU.

Well, the comics I got from a comic shop, Catalyst I bought at a B&N (but I figured I’d include it here anyway), and Heir to the Empire I funnily enough got at Trek Fest in Iowa, so I only got the three Bounty Hunter Wars book at a goodwill[thrift] store.

And even that was quite an unusual goodwill[thrift] store. They had a lot of SW books (many of which I already own), an entire section for comics (quite well taken care of), so that particularly store was quite a lucky find. I sure as hell don’t have thrift stores that good where I live.

EDIT:
I seem to have used “Goodwill” as a catch-all phrase for thrift shops in general, so that might have been misleading.

I’m a big fan of the Goodwin/Infantino collaboration in the late 70’s, and the Marvel covers in-general back then were simply amazing. Some people find them a little cheesy but I think they’re perfect for how SW was when it still had that pulpy Flash Gordon feel to it.

I’ve already collected all the Norwegian translations of the Goodwin/Infantino comics so starting this summer I’ve branched out to collecting the original American ones.

Yeah, I also enjoy G/I comics, they’re the best. What is the going rate for the old Marvel SW in the US? I know the first one has some value at least.

The most expensive one I got for 10 USD, but most of them were around 5 USD (give or take a dollar). So not bad, but obviously if you’re going for the entire series it’ll stack up eventually.

Bumping the living hell out of this thread to share a bit of childhood wish fulfillment/irresponsible waste of adult money. I don’t know about you guys, but I used to adore the Star Wars Customizable Card Game from Decipher in the 90s. The game itself was a little over my head, but I loved collecting the cards (as much as a nine-year-old without any money can really collect anything). Anyway, a couple of times in recent years I’ve tried to make decks from my old collection, but I was missing some essential stuff and I was never able to get a satisfying game going with my friends. The other day, though, I came across a factory-sealed booster box of the game’s base set on ebay, and while it probably would have been cheaper and/or easier to order singles from somewhere, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to tear through an entire box of packs in one go like I always wanted to as a kid (they were from the much more abundant and less valuable white-bordered printing, so any serious collectors need not get stressed out about my childish need to open packages). This stuff combined with my old cards should definitely be enough to get me playing, and it only took me 16 years after it went out of print. Good lord is this packaging a nostalgia trip.
