True story: There was a guy I knew that had an operation on his bladder and was home-stricken for a few weeks around November. One day one of my friends introduced him to Final Fantasy XI.
He got so addicted to it after that, that even after he was able to get up and about after his operation, he didn't go back to school. He also stopped talking to all of his friends, and when they called him to see if he wanted to go and do something he always made and excuse and you could hear the FFXI music in the background. He played FFXI from when he got up around 11 until 2 in the morning, it was crazy.
One of my friends saw him a few days ago and said that he was extremely pale and looked like he hadn't shaved or been out of the house in weeks.
Now that is going a little too far.
