Well if you aren’t going to explain it then I don’t want to hear it.
It’s just that tech support will often blindly ask “Have you tried turning it off and turning it on again?” so often that it’s become a cliché.
No wonder I missed it, it wasn’t even a joke.
You’re not necessarily wrong. I’m not sure what else you can call it, though.
What would you call it? I’m surprised you’ve never heard it because I hear people saying it all the time.
