I am confused....


How is it possible for someone who is not Jimbo to like Attack of the Clones better than Revenge of the Sith?

After some thought I changed ROTJ to 8 out of 10. In hindsight it was ridiculous to say that ROTJ is worse than TESB by the same amount that TPM is worse than ROTJ...if that makes sense.

I corrected things by putting a little more distance between the OOT and PT.

From my point of view we're only dealing with the small differences between varying levels of crappiness. It's not like I'm putting AOTC on any pedestal...they both stink.

I rated ROTS so low because this was the film that had all of the most important plot points of the prequel trilogy. Plus it had the added responsibility of tying the two trilogies together. It failed, utterly, in almost every one of these aspects.

Quite the opposite. Sith has changed the tenor of all the six films and will be a major piece of debate for years and years to come as to how significant it truly is. The early talk about it rivalling ESB will also never end, and likely only grow stronger as more and more young fans who get to experience all 6 films with kid eyes grow up with their own perspective on the films, and not get bogged down and stuck in 1983 like so many OT fans here have apparently been living their lives.
I'm a mainstream Star Wars fan exploring the extremes of Star Wars fandom. My views will no doubt be unpopular. I shall be kind and courteous in my postings, and I hope you will be too.

I thought it was great. Sure, there are problems such as the big gaping Leia plot hole, and General Grievous' favorite line seemed to be "cough, cough" but the good points far outweigh the flaws. My order, from greatest to worst:

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Caster, what gapping Leia plot hole. I've seen ROTS twice now and I'm in the middle of my annual SW Marathon (finishing ESB and will probably watch ROTJ next week)

I have been a SW GEEK since I was 12 in 1977. I think I've got a lot of the stuff down pretty good and while watching ROTS I found myself saying "I KNEW IT!!!" throughout the movie. I was pretty pleased w/ ROTS. I wish they discussed more of why C-3PO (and NOT R2-D2) needed a memory wipe. Also I wished they discussed the possibility of Luke one day defeating Palpatine.

During my annual Marathon I compared the 1977 ANH and the 2004 DVD ANH side-by-side and I have to say the Deathstar battle is MUCH better in the 2004 DVD than the 1977 (TR47 and EditDroid copies).

My rankings of ALL 6 movies:

TPM = AOTC = ROTS = ANH 2004 DVD (minus the 19 frames of blasphemy - "Han Shoots FIRST") = ESB 2004 DVD (I like the new Emperor and the new snow beast thingy) = ROTJ (toss up between 1983 and 2004 DVD [minus the horrible "Jedi Rocks song"])

BECAUSE ALL 6 CHAPTERS OF SW MAKES THE GREATEST MOVIE SAGA OF ALL TIME!!!

If you think those were the biggest problems, oh my oh my... and what's wrong with living in 1983? I'd be down for watching GOOD Star Wars movies and listening to U2 all day...

Shame on you for voting it above Return Of The Jedi... truly unbelievable...
