I was mainly irritated by “Not all men” and I thought that “women share responsibility” was valid along with “calls victim crazy,” “defended by wife/friends,” and “blames others for tarnished reputation,” but I guess I should be careful even citing the latter few because I have no idea what context she’s even placing these in. The reason I was thinking “women share responsibility” is potentially a valid comment is because I personally have been harassed by both men and women, and guess what? Nobody fucking cared. Now obviously that doesn’t mean that I’m advocating no one care when it happens to other people, quite the opposite in fact, but you can see why I get salty when assholes oversimplify everything to “It’s only men,” or “It’s only women.” Again, I have no clue what that quote is even supposed to be in response to, but it isn’t unreasonable on it’s own. As for “defended by wife and friends,” that also isn’t necessarily irrational. When you have two different parties saying two different things, who knows who to believe? Blaming others for the tarnished reputation and calling the victim crazy go hand in hand, but the fact is, there are some crazy people out there, and a lot of them like to lie. I used a know a couple compulsive liars, and they would lie to damage people’s reputation, and sometimes it worked. That’s a possibility. My main thing is, when you have absolutely no idea about any of the facts in a given situation, it’s best not to jump to any conclusions.
