Stuart Freeborn was the head designer of the Yoda team, and Wendy Froud (wife of Brian Fround -- a famous dollmaker who worked on The Dark Crystal) was the main fabricator. Oz and Gary Kurtz were also part of the Yoda team. Henson really didn't do anything except let the aforementioned parties tap the talents of his staff (most of whom were working on The Dark Crystal at the time, so Yoda was a test-run for their attempts at using realistic puppets to tell a fantasy story).

That would require renting, buying, or borrowing the new DVDs, wouldn't it? Hmmm... I'll just read about him on the web. Google came up with a bunch of stuff on him. I don't know anyone in the area where I live who owns the new DVDs and I still refuse to fork out any of my money for them be it ownership or rental.

HAHAHAHA that is the funniest thing i have ever read, a quater of it is true, the other quater is driven by anger of being made fun of, another quater, is just sheer anger at the third one, and the last quater is him insulting himself. AHAHAHAHA thats made my day.

Exactly, that's why I posted it. Seems to me that he's insulting all SW fans and unfairly drawing the conclusion that anyone who's really into SW can't possibly have a sex life or appreciate art because they're too immature. Basically he's stating an opinion, which he has a right to do b/c it's an op-ed piece (the "SF" stands for San Francisco, BTW), but that doesn't give him an excuse for being such an asshole about it.

I also agree that some of his points re: the prequels are valid, but his overall tone is just annoyingly presumptuous and egotistical.

I love the guy, he's just pissed and ranting, all valid points.

I always love how people like this crap on a fanbase and somehow think it means they're better than said fanbase. So you mean to tell me that he thinks we're so pathetic, yet writing an article about it isn't? And he think we need lives(and apparrently lots of porn). Reminds me why I don't read this garbage. The Empire Strikes Back is a film for a ten year old? Riggghhhttttt.......

I don't mind his tone, and I don't think his comments about die-hard, prequel-obsessed Star Wars fans are that far off the mark. Have you checked out TheForce.net recently?

I post there regularly. Just because most fans of the franchise have moved on, have a larger perspective and are not caught up in a feedback loop of hate and anger doesn't make our opinions any less credible. But I suppose taking potshots at people you think don't read this board is how you get off as being slightly superior.

I'm not a biggest fan of the prequels, but they still have a story to tell and the first two adds to my understanding of where the Star Wars universe pre Luke Skywalker began, the political situation, the character connections. The fact that Revenge of the Sith is such a wonderful movie was only a bonus.

As for the SFgate article on StarWars, leave it the left-wing columnists to come up with articles like that making sweeping generalizations and bemoaning how nude fat frenchmen throwing shit on canvas isn't appreciated more as art.
I'm a mainstream Star Wars fan exploring the extremes of Star Wars fandom. My views will no doubt be unpopular. I shall be kind and courteous in my postings, and I hope you will be too.
