Probably a misunderstanding. He probably took “smh” as in shaking your head in shame, since that’s usually what that means.
Up until this moment, I always thought “smh” was short for “so much hate”. In many cases, it would have been kind of interchangeable with “shaking my head”. But there were certainly times that I thought, “damn, that’s an over the top response. Oh well. Must just be how the youths talk, now”.
Does it sometimes mean “so much hate”, or am I the equivalent of grannies who, 20 years ago, thought LOL meant lots of love?
