On some bootlegs I just got, when Han, Obi-Wan and Luke are being sucked into the Death Star by the tractor beam, the sound goes all quiet and you can hardly hear them talking. Was this in the original movies?... like the tractor beam was sucking some sound waves out of the air or something? or is this just something that got screwed up on my DVD?

No, I don't think so... all of the dialogue goes really quiet for about 10 seconds and you can hardly hear what they are saying...

There IS no dialogue when we see the milenium falcon going into the Death Star, but you mean the dialogue that goes something like "Not without a fight" and stuff?

Right from "Chewie lock in the auxilary power" to "we're not gonna bla bla without a fight"... it goes really quiet... anyone know if this is an error or actually from the original version?

That's a Dr. Gonzo set error I've never seen anyone else but me notice, so I figured it was my set. Guess it isn't.

Thanks man. It's a decent error to have... you can just convince yourself that the tractor beam is sucking in the sound waves and it's all good! haha

I have the Dr. Gonzo set, and I don't get that error... Strange. did you have someone burn the DVD for you or did you burn it? Maybe something went wrong with the burning.

I bought it off the internet. It is the 4-disc laserdisc set.

I don't know much about burning DVDs, but I guess maybe the person you baught it from just messed up the sound in that scene a little? Or maybe forgot to include a sound file or something? Do you use Bittorrent? You could always get a set from MySpleen and try burning it yourself. Or, if you really don't mind the error that much, I guess you could just ignore it.

It seems more like a conversion error... there is still sound there, but it fades out for about 10 seconds, allthough you can still hear what they are saying a bit... the set i bought is just amazing aside from this little error

I got it on bittorrent, and what happens is in that section when the tractor beam begins to pull the Falcon in, the sound effects of the tractor beam/Falcon's resistance overpower the actors' dialogue to an extreme level. Maybe this is a DE mix issue, but I've never heard it like that anywhere but the Dr. Gonzo set.

Uhm....... I guess you didn't read the posts above mine where funny reasons are given for the problems with the dialogue? Do you have an issue with regards to me laughing at that?

I don't think it's a common error as it would have been reported more often. I just checked the Gonzo set I got over a year ago and there is no such error on mine.
