  1. Batman (1989) While it’s certainly a product of its age, it’s still a very enjoyable film. Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton might not be my absolute favorite actors in these roles, their chemistry is the best I’ve seen in a Batman film to date.

  2. The Dark Knight - Ledger is the reason I rank the film as highly as I do. I’ve never liked Bale as Batman, and this film gave me more reason not to like him. Everything about the way he talked ruined it for me. Ledger carried the film. Calling it The Dark Knight was a mistake, because it was Joker’s film.

  3. Batman Returns - Michelle Pfeiffer in latex…That’s all I gotta say. But I will add that I thought Burton improved the overall look this time around. It felt cleaner and less of a product of its time. It had a timeless look to it.

  4. Batman Forever - This film is a turd. There were some things I liked about it, like the score and I thought many of the cast were good choices. I’ve always maintained that Val Kilmer could’ve been one of the best Batmans we ever had, but it’s a lot like Pierce Brosnan in Bond, he just didn’t get a good movie to really prove himself in. Jim Carrey even showed some promise, though I wish we could’ve gotten the real actor I know Jim Carrey is. He’s shown a lot of depth over the years, and to be honest, I think he’s more suited for a Joker.

  5. Batman and Robin - Meh. Funny though, I thought Arnold was entertaining, even though he was nothing like Mr. Freeze.

  6. Batman Begins - This isn’t a Batman movie. It’s a boring Bruce Wayne movie.

Why I didn’t list them

  1. The Dark Knight Rises - Honestly, I saw it, but I didn’t really care enough to give it my full attention. Again, Bale’s Batman is not my cup of tea.

  2. Batman 1966 - Never watched it, so I can’t really be fair. I’ve seen the show at various points, and it seemed a lot of fun, I’m just a child of the darker Batman era.

  3. Animated Universe Batman - Because it’s not fair at all. You get Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill in a Batman project, it’s definitive.
