Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side

“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

Thanks, Seiji! That was laugh-out-loud funny! Seriously. They've got Lucas down-pat.

I especially like 6:54pm "Approve a Few New Star War Licensees and Products." You have the "R2-D2 Shop-Vac" and with Yoda on the front of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" style tub, except it reads "Believe Not I Can That Butter Is Not," or how about "Hoth Pockets" instead of "Hot Pockets."

These photos have limited bandwidth by day. I just hope it holds up each day so people can see them. If not, try the next day, they're worth it. If anyone knows of a better place to host them, please let me know.

I'm glad you like it. Maybe I'll scan more once this has run its course.

lol! Instant classic! Those flannel shirts killed me Thanks!
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

LOL!
"Bearded directors", with a picture of Orson Welles on the back...
"Belive not I can that butter is not!" LOL
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. Agreed. That and Yoda's butter were the best. Great stuff, there.

(I wonder if I could make a screen insert of Han and Greedo hugging.......Hmmmmmmmmmmmm )

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

That's the funniest Star Wars thing they have done since they published Lucas' secret plot outlines for the prequels back in the 80's.

Where were you in '77?

Oh man, normally I hate MAD magazine, but that really was laugh out loud funny! "Drop some rebels into the ol' Sarlacc pit."

LOL!!!x1000!!!

I love the greedo thing, maybe closer to reality than what we think...

LOL. Lucas what a dumb bitch! LOL too funny.
"Drink the Kool-Aid. Wear blinders. Cover your ears. Because that's the only way you can totally enjoy Revenge of the Sith -- the final and most futile attempt from skilled producer, clumsy director and tin-eared writer George Lucas to create a prequel trilogy to match the myth-making spirit of the original Star Wars saga he unleashed twenty-eight years ago. Fan boys, of course, have convinced themselves otherwise. So have several critics, if you go by early reviews."

I was hoping to see a MAD magazine with ALL of their Star Wars spoofs over the years, meaning from '77-'05. I think that would of been worth getting, too.

The mag is only $3.99 with the Lucas bit. That, or I can scan copies for anyone who might like it. I had to compress the image to meet the standards of site.

My bandwidth is holding up, 79MB out of 100. Let's just hope it makes it till 12:00am.

There was a Mad Star Wars compilation released several years back, not sure if it was 97 or 99. The old strips were done up in color. A well stocked comic shop might still have it. Or Ebay...
Does anyone recall the demented parodies Cracked magazine did back in the day? The artwork was especially good too. One great fold out cover had Yoda sledding through the Hoth battle!

The two actually amusing panels in this whole strip were Lloyd picking up smoked cigarettes and the "final Greedo decision".

I have a Mad Magazine spoof of Star Wars back from 1997 SE. It has the "Star Wars Macarena", the "Hoth AT-ATs race", and more ideas for changes on the SE, such as inserting a scene with the SW cast in a coffee chop a la Friends, having the Gimp from Pulp Fiction torture Han Solo in Bespin, having Luke and Vader fishing together in a father and son moment... It also had never before released Star Wars toys, such as Yoda's love nest, the gay bar in Mos Eisley, and Jabba's toilet seat.
