You’re spot on with this - it’s something that the Tories have promised before - replacing the European Convention On Human Rights with a vague and undetailed ‘British Bill Of Rights’.

However, this time it is to deflect away from her appalling record as Prime Minister and Home Secretary where Police and domestic intelligence services have been cut - to the point where she accused them of scaremongering over them when they pointed out the consequences of these cuts some years ago.
