WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME?

This seems like a very self-centered viewpoint. There are actual, real people out there who have actual, non-imagined problems. There are people trapped in the limbo between being unable to afford college and being unable to get a job without a degree. There are people who don’t have access to clean water. There are people who live in warzones where both sides are just as despicable as each other. Feeling sorry for yourself to this degree over problems that don’t exist just isn’t healthy.

Also there are people who lost loved ones in the Manchester bombing. Or to cancer. Or in a car accident. There are parents raising kids with severe disabilities. There are people who don’t feel safe walking down the street because they’re black. Or brown. Or female. Or trans. There are people who are living on the street. People wondering how to put the next meal on their table. And on and on and on.

“Why did this have to happen to me,” as stated in this thread, is pretty insulting to people with real problems.

Trump has made those people’s live much, much worse when he decided to run for president, was actually elected (via broken electoral system), and set horrible policies into actions. That’s why I’m so upset about everything. These are the people I fear will be dead by the time he leaves office. When I said “why did this happen to me,” I meant why did I have to live in such a shitty time in history, where everyone who is not white, male, or straight is suffering unprecedented terror. And there will be no future where we can recover from this, because climate change will erase everything we have accomplished in the last 12,000 years.

Then do something about it. Make phone calls to your representatives or something. Donate time to a phone bank to help a better person get elected. Donate money to a better candidate. Go to a town hall and tell your representative what’s what.
But stop bitching and do something productive.

It’s not going to stop Trump from withdrawing from the Paris agreement. It’s not going to stop the GOP from gerrymandering their way to one-party rule until 2030. It’s not going to stop 23 million people from losing their health insurance and tens of millions more from falling into poverty and homelessness.

Even if I do something about it, all I would gain is that I would disappear, probably be shot execution-style, and my remains dumped into the Pacific Ocean.
