Disney putting out 4k boxsets won’t stop anything. There will always be issues, things left off, and things that are wrong with them.

People making their own projects have more resources, and do a much more thorough job than a big corporation ever will.

Ronwlim,

We understand and no need to explain or to justify your prices. Sharing your files with everybody was more than generous.

Believe me, if I was in this for the money, I could keep making these. I stopped at the initial five I offered 18 months ago. I have a wait list of 8 names if I ever decided to make more.

DIY! It’s the most satisfying. Google how to burn discs and make your own box. There are so many tutorials on methods on YouTube.

Hey everybody!!!

I spent the whole day reading this thread (not done yet). I just found out njvc is no longer putting more of his time into this. Thank you SO much njvc for everything you’ve done. Just marvelous and truly inspiring!!!

I have no words to describe how important it is for me to have my 8-year old daughter ALEIA (I was born in 1970, so yeah it’s a homage to Princess Leia) see all of this in such a beautiful way thanks to you. Really. Things are not well now in Venezuela. And I wanna have all the things I can to distract Aleia from all the craziness going on everyday.

Could anyone help me send me a links so I can download the 50GB content and watch with her? And if you have any additional recommendation it would be more than welcome.

Thank you so much!

DIY is absolutely more rewarding and gives you that sense of accomplishment. I am just stuck on trying to make a box for 3 12.5mm Blu-ray cases and one for 4 12.5mm Blu-ray cases. I search day in and day out and come up short each and every time. Mainly because I am looking for a template for illustrator.

You’ll want to ask for a MySpleen invite here

Hello! I was considering building menus and all for myself, but this looks FANTASTIC, and I love that you’ve included 3rd party commentaries like RLM, Collider, etc. However, I don’t have access to SPLEEN. How do I go about earning an invite? Please & thank you to anyone who can help. May the Force be with you… always.

Did you even look before asking? The post above yours has a link… Good luck

Nobody looking for an invite reads any other posts.

There’s a fucking sticky announcement about it and still nobody knows where to look

Which makes you wonder, whether they bother checking back to see if anyone replied to their questions, or answered them.

Maybe they just keep asking in other places, and never find out. Their loss.

I went the DIY route and am very happy for it. But many of the stock I got in bulk (50 BD discs, 30 Criterion cases, etc). So my up-front costs were high even though per disc it would be cheap.

In order to move some of my extra material, in celebration of the 40th anniversary tomorrow, my desk in my office may just accidentally have 10 backup copies of the Despecialized Star Wars Blu-ray Disc. If those copies were lost to unknown places as co-workers happen to walk by, well then that’s just a damned shame 😃.

Can anyone tell me how to publish pictures to the thread? I would like to post the set that I made as well.

Quote someone with pics and you’ll see how they did it. That’s what I did.

Nice!

I also bought extra materials… I made sets for a few close friends who I knew would both love to have the Despecialized edition and all the bonus materials.

I had two extra sets that I ended up giving away as prizes to a Star Wars trivia quiz I created during a backyard screening of the SSE I did this weekend.

Share the wealth, I say.

I can attest. It was smart to price them as such because I inquired those 18 months ago and it deterred me enough lol. Inevitably I designed and learned to print my own covers and discs as well, and I am very pleased with that. It has led me down a path of creating custom blu-ray covers for most of the films I own to fit in uniform Criterion cases. If I had just let someone else do everything for me I wouldn’t be as satisfied. I’ve even looked into making custom menus because I just want something different than the excellent work njvc has already done. And that’s the point of making your own set, is the unique quality and personal responsibility. Take pride in doing things yourself, there’s nothing like learning something new!

It doesn’t hurt to offer help, but it always hurts to disregard those that do.

Hello¡ I downloaded subtittles from Threepio to put them via MKV Merge GUI into the Star Wars ESB Despecialized 2.0 720p and when i open the video file (MKV) in the PC i can see the subtittles perfectly (in all formats), but when i put the film in a USB and i open it on a Blu Ray Player i can switch to Subtittles: Yes, but i have the following problems:
-When i put SRT spa-es-full there are some lines that does not appear enterily in the screen. For example when Luke talks with Han Solo at the beginning about the Empire probe.
-When i put SUP subtitles they appear perfectly in PC but when in the Blu Ray i cant see them when i switch to Subtittles: Yes. This happens with both 720p and 1080p SUP Subtittles.

Too bad it’s not at a convention. Then it’d be okay, right?

No. It’s not ok anywhere…but certainly more understandable there. I sure as hell have bought bootlegs before at various conventions before the internet became such a thing so I can’t very well point the finger at others for doing the same.

Just a heads up:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUmHsPiGBrw

Interesting how the buyer is silent with all three disks during the parts where it says “Preservations must not be bought or sold.” I understand the frustration of getting these onto hard copies, but to financially support those who trample on other peoples’ work and generosity…
