I tweeted it to Kevin Smith, Patton Oswalt, Simon Pegg, and Stephen Colbert. Not sure what good it will do.

I just tweeted it to Trump with the words Make Star Wars Great Again!
I also tweeted it to TMZ.
Maybe one of them, would retweet it if all of us tweeted it to them.
Peter Mayhew? Billy Dee Williams? Aren’t they on twitter. HelloGreedo is pro OOT.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher
It might be a little last minute to be nitpicking this, but the wording of the letter is still very OT-centric.
TPM and AotC never even made it to dvd in their theatrical forms, and there’s uncertainty about the RotS blu-ray as well. That comparison might be apples and oranges, and I get that this is originaltrilogy.com, but … well, I just thought it was worth noting.
Silverwook (and Jay, and everyone else), thanks for making this happen!
And a big thanks to those of you who are doing your best to push this through social media. I choose to believe that even the smallest things can start an unlikely chain of events, so keep it up!
Just saw Harmy’s tweet…sadly not that big of a response so far. Genuinely curious, why share the long version? From what I can tell, the linked Dear-Disney page contains the exact same body of text, so isn’t it kinda redundant?
What, a man builds a giant mound of dirt in his house and you aren’t entertained?
It was an attempt to cover all bases. Not everyone might click on the link, and the graphic version was intended to catch the eye as people scroll by.
The version on the site will remain after our 15 minutes in the social media universe is over.
I was also having problems somewhere in the pipeline last night. The entire staff shares the twitter account via tweetdeck, and the damn thing kept counting hashtags toward the word count. Never had that problem before.
Where were you in '77?
Thanks for putting it out there. Hard to believe we have a an official 40th anniversary without the actual thing that’s turning 40. (they even have an article on the official site today with Dennis Muren that goes on about the importance/legacy of the effects and the Dykstraflex and the motion control work, and how many of those shots aren’t in the movie anymore?)
I just tweeted it to Trump
SAD!!!
Good luck with this, I hope it does do something but I really wish you had gone with the short and blunt version. It is much more grabbing.
That long scroll is too much for social media.
I don’t think we’re that desperate…yet.

Jeez…
He got the spelling Forth wrong
Fake news!
(Literally…either that or he deleted it, but I believe it was faked by someone.)
Well then, the fellow who posted it to the OT twitter was duped! And it wasn’t me. 😉

I went on my own little twitter rant just now, not sure if anyone’s interested in sharing it. My intent was to explain the problem to the reddit types who think it’s a non-issue without making it about taste.
For Twitter, I’ll add Chris Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns to the list of people to Tweet at. I know Jahns pretty much endorsed Harmy’s editions in one of his videos. Chris I believe received a copy from one of his fans, and not to mention, he’s a Star Wars fan.
JEDIT: I spelled “Jahns” wrong initially; thanks to Ryan below for making me realize my error.
The Rise of Failures
@JeremyJahns posted that enthusiastic Harmy video a while back. I’m sure he’d retweet it, if it was brought to his attention.
EDIT: ^ Beat me to it.
@serafinowicz ?
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
Was nice of CNN to note there was no Episode IV subtitle when the movie first came out.

Just today I saw a video about streaming versus cinema today, someone raised the point that cinema is better because it’s communal. They saw stuff like Jaws, Star Wars etc and remember how people cheered at the ending. Point is… in the clip used the Death Star was CGI. Fucking Praxis Wave. Ugh.

The official Star Wars twitter asked followers which was their first Star Wars movie?..
Mark Hamill tweeted: “Star Wars”.

Love Hamill. Refuses to put on a fake smile and regurgitate Lucasfilm PR bullshit.

I wish he would retweet the message.
Mark has to walk a pretty fine line. If it were up to him, the OOT would be released because he wants as many people to be happy as possible. But he also has to not piss off people at Lucasfilm. Carrie gave zero fucks and got away with it.

I’ve tweeted and attached it to other tweets, anything that mentioned today specifically. My co-workers are all already up to speed. 😉
I hope you guys don’t mind my tiny little attempt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkwpWYTlQVc
