" I thought the XO Project was a capture project, not a release. MeBeJedi and Zion are releases based on that (unless things have changed)."

You are actually correct on both counts.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

I'm a SW fan from the netherlans my whole life. I have a question about the extra disc. Is there a torrent and has it some of the containt in it from the VHS EXECUTOR Box

All the various versions are easily downloadable, so that everyone can make their own informed opinion. Each version has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position where I can download and burn because I don't have the hardware. I just know that I have the original one and it is darn good so I am looking forward to making a donation to the project in exchange for a dvd set.

I'm not familiar with all of the torrent names, but if you look for something called Dr. Gonzo Bonus Disc or Definitive Collection Bonus disc, you'll probably get most of the stuff from the Executor boxed set. The television documentaries (The Making of Star Wars, SP FX, etc.) will probably be under their own titles.

Hi there,

A noobie here, stumbled across this forum yesterday while looking for information on the original un-edited Star Wars trilogy, and think I have found a new home! Firstly I would just like to say how much I respect everyone who has taken time to preserve the original Star Wars prints onto the DVD format, I have often wondered about doing this myself, but not owning a laserdisc player, or having the skill / funds to attempt it has always got in the way! I cannot wait for these new disc to surface and eagerly await seeing the originals for the first time (yes ive only ever seen the SE's but im an avid fan!). I am a big believer in preserving originals of any film!

I did a little more extensive side-by-side compare between EditDroids and the TR-47 set (ANH only). The EditDroid is slightly sharper, but the TR-47 set is brighter which sometimes makes the picture look better in some scenes. The 2 sets are almost tied in quality, but for different reasons. If the new CowClops set has the sharp picture of the EditDroid set and the bright but less washed out colors of the TR-47 set you will have a DEFINITE WINNER.

I'm also getting excited by the impending arrival of this set but let’s not forget the XO projects!

Greetings all,

Truly an amazing forum here; I never dreamed any amount of people with a real passion for Star Wars would ever have be able to mount such a collective effort in pursuing the presevation of that which Gerogie (porgie) Lucas has sought to so destroy.

Just recently I finally got ahold of the TR-47 versions for my own collection and though I haven't got around to seeing them just yet, i'm already kicking myself in that these new Cowclops transfers sound so good. I suppose like everyone else though it's never bad to have more than one set though...

So, is there now a definitive date we can expect for this release or at this stage is it still too early?

Ok - I've been here about a week now and this is my first post. I just got my TR-47 7 disc set (and holiday special) last night. Much sooner than I expected. The girlfriend and I just watched ESB - Wow. I was pretty impressed with the caliber of this transfer. Now I'm really excited about the next project.

'Nuff props to Cowclops, TR47, Rikter, and everyone else to whom we owe our appreciation. It's good to know this scene is out here. I think the special editions are interesting in their own way, but not without the originals being available. It was nice to hear Boba's real voice, etc. Can't wait to print some cover art and slap these boys up on the shelf!

Anyway, thanks again to TR47 for the really fast shipping, and I want to say I'm glad to be part of the community.

It will be done whenever Cowclops finishes it. I really can't say at this point.

Gotcha...so how about the distribution then? Will it mostly be a 'PM and we'll discuss' type of distribution or do you guys have something else planned?

Hoichi -

I plan on uploading them on the torrents and newsgroups the second I get a copy BUT TR$7 will be selling them hand-over-fist via a "review" of the set via the Prillaman.net website, sell.com, bayoubid.com and on iOffer.com like he did the last set.

Cowclops or ANYONE else that gets this set.

SO, I already know that TR47 will not SELL me a copy of this set at all so......

Please help me aquire a copy so I can upload them to the torrents AND the newsgroups for FREE and help prevent the rampent profiteering that happened with the last Cowclops and the Dr. Gonzo sets. (this happens when these sets stay "exclusive")

I will trade 3:1 for the set once it's out or I will happily make a donation to you for a copy.

I have been away from the forum from quite some time and I just found out about the new project. Please let us all know where to aquire them as soon as they are ready. I have said it before and I'll say it again: We all owe TR47 a huge debt of gratitude, you do God's work my friend!

I just went through this entire thread and I now know that it is Cowclops who is to be credited with the production of the TR47 discs. When my kids are old enough I will show them these transfers and tell them the legend of Cowclops and TR47. I love the original set and I am sure I will be blown away with the new set. It will be even more impressive to my kids though, I can't ever thank you guys enough for allowing them the opportunity to see the original trilogy in all of its glory.

Cowclops, I notice you haven't posted here since April 17th. Are you still working on this set? I am a big fan of your first set and of your technical posts re anamorphic vs. letterbox, dual- vs single-layer and noise reduction, so I really hope you are.
