But use ! and [ ], (without spaces) instead of 1 and { }

You got the code right, but you didn’t link directly to the image. I edited your post to fix it.

Keep in mind some sites don’t like anyone hotlinking their images, so it doesn’t always work.

Edit your own post and you should be able to see it. The problem with posting it is that it will be invisible in an actual post.

Taken from here

Inline image syntax looks like this:

![Alt text](/path/to/img.jpg)

![Alt text](/path/to/img.jpg "Optional title")
That is:

An exclamation mark: !;
followed by a set of square brackets, containing the alt attribute text for the image;
followed by a set of parentheses, containing the URL or path to the image, and an optional
title attribute enclosed in double or single quotes.

Pro tip: if you see somebody else post something you want to steal the format of, just quote it and look at the text.

I didn’t want to create a new thread for this, but now that you can enlarge images with the magnifying glass, after that it’s impossible to get back to the thread. There’s nothing to click, Esc does nothing, you can’t go back.

Esc doesn’t work, true, that would be nice. But there is an X in the upper right corner of the enlarged image, and that closes it and leaves you back on the thread/post you were on. Does that not show up for you?

Oh, I see it. Earlier the forum’s top banner came over it and didn’t move anywhere.

LexX, can you describe what you were doing at the time and the browser you use? The fixed header is supposed to hide itself automatically if you zoom in on an image, and while zoomed, the scroll should be locked so the header doesn’t appear and block the X. The only bug I’ve seen is that if you zoom an image and then resize your browser window, the header reappears, blocking the X.

I think I can fix that though. Binding the escape key is also a good idea.

The header comes down when you put your mouse in the top area of the site and after that it doesn’t go away. Using Firefox 54. Esc would help!

I have this problem sometimes. Here’s a screenshot:

It seems to me that the X to cose the image simply doesn’t appear, although it’s there.

Here’s what I see when I open yhwx’s image. There is no button visible.

However, when I move my cursor to the top right corner, it changes its shape and when I click there, it closes the image and takes me back to the thread.

Windows 8.1
