I think what you’re missing Malastrana, is that a movie with good and bad aspects, minus the bad aspects, doesn’t necessarily equal a better movie.
Even if something is “bad” or isn’t well executed, it’s sometimes necessary to support the story.
It’s like if you held up a bridge on poor-quality support beams. The beams are bad, but if you just take them out without replacing them, the bridge collapses.
This is something a lot of fan edits (even my prequel edits) struggle with. I enjoyed aspects of this edit but I felt like without any context for the characters, the edit doesn’t work, even if the context wasn’t executed well in the original film.
