I don’t think Trump is unintelligent. But he is most certainly incompetent at being President. Look no further than the Muslim ban rollout, the healthcare vote (granted that’s more Ryan’s fault but Trump had a hand in it), the constant undercutting of his own people’s statements which destroys all of their credibility, or the way he keeps making the Russia story worse (the Comey firing is just the latest example).
The only thing he’s done properly are things that I could have done if I were so inclined - signing executive orders to get rid of Obama executive orders, and nominating a Supreme Court judge that was guaranteed to get through because the Senate got rid of the filibuster. Big deal.
All of his difficulties are unforced errors that make governing more difficult. He’s incompetent at doing the job he was elected for.
Exactly on point. Trump has a hard time getting stuff done like the examples you laid out. Trump just makes careless mistakes and fails to articulate his points in a successful manner. That’s one thing I’ll give to Obama, (I don’t particulary think he is as amazing as some make him out to be) which is that he was a master at articulating his points in an effective and professional manner. He was a well spoken individual unlike Trump. Which could have been seen as an advantage in the election since many loved the more “raw” approach I guess.
