If those are bootleg discs, they look awfully good. (I got burned on a factory sealed bootleg Beatles CD box set several years ago, and the sub par disc labeling was one of the giveaways.) Are we certain there was no other retailer exclusive packaging like Walmart had with the comic books included?
You’d be surprised how good bootlegs can look. I made this video a few years ago showing real vs. fake Studio Ghibli films, aside from the fact they used the wrong artwork it would be relatively hard to tell. Photos taken from a distance would look just like authentic ones - thankfully they used the wrong art so it’s obvious, but in the case of Star Wars there was only ever ONE box art, so that’s not a factor.
