"The very name Anakin literally means "New Family" (ana=new kin-family)."

I was under the impression that "ana" meant "no" or "none", as in "no family" (i.e. father.)

Hmmmmmm

ana-
pref.

1. Upward; up: anacrotic.
2. Backward; back: anaplasia.
3. Again; anew: anabiosis.

Anew, as in "born again"?

(Not that I thought this was Lucas' reasoning for the name. "Annikin Starkiller" appears in the first draft of "The Star Wars", and he has a father and mother, and there's no mention of the prophecy until the third draft [or mention of midichlorians until TPM. ])
