I do think I’m going to release a 2.0 version, so to speak. The current version is only in stereo and is also at a lower compression rate. So having a high-quality 5.1 version would be nice for viewers.
I’d also like to try matching Vader’s dubbed lines a bit better, along with some other comments and feedback I’ve received.
To your point ben_danger on making further music changes, especially the sequence with Jyn’s death…I’m not sure there is a suitable Williams track that could fit that. It’s a pretty long piece (starting from the Star Destroyers crashing into the gate up until Vader’s shuttle approaching the Rebel flagship) and has varying tone and emotion to it. And out of all the cues from Rogue One, I think it was probably Giacchino’s best. I dunno, maybe I’ll look at some of the Episode III cues and see if something might work…
I agree that the final piece playing during Jyn’s death is the best piece in the original film score and I was beyond happy that you decided to keep it.
