I totally disagree. The Obi Wan/Vader duel is only inconsistent with the prequels which had acrobats doing back flips and spiralling barrel rolls wearing Christopher Lee’s or Ian McDiarmid’s face. In the context of the original trilogy it looks like what it is. Two seasoned skilled fighters making very careful moves against appointments armed with very, very dangerous blades.
So you call that whole spinning action normal?
Also, I disagree with your point. I wasn’t talking about the prequels (god, I hate prequels, that’s why I tried to edit them but it was too much for me to handle properly) I was talking about the other two movies of the original trilogy. Darth Vader’s whole fighting style is different. Not to mention Vader shows much grater skill, strength and mobility in the other two OT movies that he lack in this scene. Both actors movements look weird and restricted. And there is that whole spinning action Obi-Wan takes, which is ridiculous on its own right. If you were fighting with someone and you did that in front of that person, an utterly useless and pointless action, you would have been dead that moment. (all it would take for that person to extend their arm a little bit to slice you while you are spinning, you are completely defenseless) It doesn’t take much to see it serves no purpose. Obi-Wan doesn’t even hit anything, he just spins for no reason and they continue where they left off. Lastly, they are trying to best each other, it is not a battle of wits. (well, in Obi-Wan’s case, he might be trying to buy time for his friends) But instead, they clash their lightsabers, stand around a bit, they clash it again, Obi-Wan waves around his light saber a bit, takes a spin for no reason and they clash it again and so son. It is nothing like to other two original trilogy movies.
