Not the first R rated film to have toys based on it though. š

I canāt remember which was the actual firstā¦ but one of Aliens, Robocop and Predator was the first R rated film I ever saw. I turned 10 in 1986ā¦ so those movies came at a perfect time for me.
I actually think itās true that they simply donāt make action movies like they used toā¦ that era was simply full of amazing action films that IMO have been rarely (if ever) topped since.
Aliens, Robocop, Predator, Conan the Barbarian, Die Hard, Total Recallā¦ .even lesser stuff like Commando and Rambo 2 were great in a campy while still being serious kind of way that you donāt see much these days.
As I continue to watch Robocop Iām kind of amazed how awesome it isā¦ like it actually might be one of the best films ever made. I mean how many other films do what they set out to do so damn well?
Kenner actually first tried marketing Alien toys in 1979. It didnāt get much further than the big chap, a board game, and a Super 8mm movie viewer. ReAction has made an action figure line based on Kennerās never manufactured prototypes in recent years.
