Imagine being this pretentious…

Imagine liking the prequels or the SEs.

Or the Disney movies, for that matter.

I like the Disney movies. I think TFA is good, and found RO entertaining. So, what’s it to you?

I enjoy the Special Edition Trilogy for what it is. I too enjoyed TFA and RO for similar reasons. They may not be entirely old school but movies are supposed to entertain not define a person who watches them and that’s all I got.

😃

I have mixed feelings. I like the recomps and SOME of the new cgi, and I also like Ian in empire strikes back. But other than the new ending to ROTJ I pretty much hate everything that changes the runtime. Some of the cgi is good (death star attack in a new hope), but some is bad. (Everything in mos eisley in a new hope, the new cloud city approach in esb. I also hate the sarlaac ball in rotj but not because the cgi is bad I just don’t care for it it’s silly.)

The 2011 colors don’t bother me either. And the new sound mix for esb and rotj sound fantastic as well, but sadly anh, while slightly better than 2004, still sounds garbage for the inconsistent dialogue. (Example that always sticks out to me from 04 that they didn’t fix in 11 is the trash compactor scene where Han says “absolutely your worship”. Goes from garbage to crystal clear in one sentence, I’d rather it all be medium) so I think the 1997 sound mix is the best a new hope ever sounded.

Personally I watch a semi specialized version of all 3 that I cooked up myself as a warm up to doing my return of the Jedi edit.

Shit this was way off topic. Sorry, jfs post just brought all this to my mind.
