James Cameron is a douche

Ouch 😄 ! One of the most important artists of the past decades. Not only an artist, but an engineer and an explorer. The kind of man (along with Lucas by the way, as well as Zemeckis, Spielberg, Jackson and Del Toro) who is a pioneer and a researcher in cinematic ways of telling a story. One of the most talented sci-fi storytellers. So… ok man, “bouh hou hou, Cameron said bad things about Episode 7, he’s a douche, bouh hou hou me sad 😦”… Ok 😄

I don’t think anyone is disputing that. But if he could find time in his busy schedule to sign off on HD transfers of The Abyss and True Lies, so they could finally see a Blu Ray release this century, that would be nice. 😉
Seriously, there was never even an anamorphic DVD of either film.

James Cameron is a douche who only gets away with it because most of his movies turn out decent. Good luck on people caring about the 5 million Avatar sequels.

I loved Avatar…sue me.

I liked Avatar, it was a fun movie. But, making 4 sequels… sheesh!

In all fairness, Hollywood set a terrible precedent when a Transformers Cinematic Universe was announced.

I don’t remember them announcing a TCU like disney did with MCU. I’ve only seen the term Bayverse in context to the Transformers fandom that just loves tracking continuity. Aside from the films sort of carrying over from one another (I’d argue they have more continuity errors than when George Lucas did the Prequels), I really wouldn’t say Bayformers has a Cinematic Universe, so much as too many sequels.

If the Bay films are in the same universe as the 1986 animated movie, I don’t want to live on this planet anymore. 😉

Don’t worry, that’s definitely not the case. They belong to completely different continuity families entirely. The official names for their continuities are Primax 984.17 Alpha and Tyran 707.03 Delta (Yes, Hasbro had way too much fun playing to the fans’ obession with continuity and gave us an official naming scheme for Tranformers Continuities).

To clarify, yes, they announced it several movies in, unlike the MCU.

At least by waiting this long they can take advantage of even newer home video formats … assuming they ever get around to it at all.

Abyss is supposedly coming this year. The 4K HDR transfer was supposedly done last year, according to the man himself. What the holdup is is beyond me.

I wish the original Transformers trilogy was handled a lot better. Too much human scenes, not enough Transformers. They also royally screwed the designs of the Transformers. Devastator was not well executed at all. If they followed the source material a little closer, while tweaking somethings, it could’ve been a much better Trilogy. That could’ve ended the story, with no need for making more movies.

No, the Bay films are not connected to G1 at all.

Cameron said the holdup on True Lies and The Abyss is Fox when asked at a Q&A. Abyss has been done for at least two years (I think longer), as the new transfer was used in HD broadcasts (no director’s cut, though). I’m assuming they’re being released this year to coincide with the T2 3D rerelease.

This is some real great Rogue One conversation right here.

Yep I concur about that. But isn’t Fox to the blamed as well ?

(edit: eiyosus already answered that !)

(yet I’m pretty sure La totale! is not going to get a bluray version before True Lies does 😄)

Bandcamp purchases are always like that for content. It’s a good commentary though. Obviously not for everyone.

I use bandcamp for my albums, and It’s up to the user how the price works. Free, pay what you want (with or without a minimum), or a set price. You can also listen to the entire commentary track on bandcamp without paying, as well.

Sorry Frink, ahem Rogue One was fun.

Ah right. I figured since they always seem to be drop a few bucks if you can, seems like a fair deal in many cases.

1$ if you want to keep a copy; free if you just want to listen to it.

@Disco_Lobot : you should stop insulting people by the way. Especially for a 1-week newb around here.
