Thanks very much, Arklaine. You're in luck; that line is gone along with Beru's line, "Hello." I agree that "girlfriend" doesn't sound right in a Star Wars movie. I was even considering removing Owen's dialogue revealing his name, because it seemed to introduce inconsistencies with SW (ANH). But Beru's line is gone, Padme's line is gone, and very possibly I will remove the "stepbrother" line as well.

One of the great things about the OT was its pace and also its character introductions. To get a feel for the characters, you didn't write a part in the script where they stood around and chatted/introduced themselves, you wrote something like the original Han/Greedo scene.

Greedo: I've been looking forward to this for a long time.
Han: Yes, I'll bet you have.

Bang. That sets up Han's character really nicely.

You know, another word that's out of place in the prequels is "cool." Characters never said "cool" in the OT, so removing it in the PT restores some of that classic quality to it (specifically TPM). It's sometimes those little things that really add up.

Thanks for the input!
