Having seen R1 again it doesn’t feel nearly as great as for the first two times. I was just waiting for 1,5 hours for the final battle which was way too long convoluted. First you need to search the file, then try to manually get it, then climb to get it, then you need connect to the ship, then you need to hit a lever and then you need to go the antenna and then you need to angle it and then you finally can put the files in. You could have easily cut a few steps… But the biggest problem is that I didn’t care for most of the characters.
Anyways, I still like it more than TFA and even though I wasn’t a fan of the Vader scene at the end, now it seemed to have worked much better. And the movie itself still looks awesome.
