Laurel and Hardy

I love these guys! I'm a big fan of all their movies.

Unfortunately, their movies have gotten similar treatment as the Star Wars Trilogy; only a few are on DVD, some are colorized, and some have been edited from their original versions.

Maybe there's a originallaurelandhardy.com petition somewhere!

Step 1: Get Turner Classic Movies
Step 2: Get a DVR/DVD burner (Toshiba makes one)
Step 3: Wait for a Laurel and Hardy marathon.
Step 4: Burn them.

Every so often TCM runs Laurel and Hardy marathons. DVR the entire thing then record it. My dad has several DVDs of them now.

I did the same with a recent Three Stooges marathon on SpikeTV recently. 2 disks with 18 shorts, including one that had 4 stooges (after his heart attack, Curly had cameo appearances in a handful of them).

So I guess you must hate this movie.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I'm a Three Stooges fan myself. Could never take Laurel and Hardy. Never cared for Abbot & Costello, either.

You know it's bad when IMDb has a link at the bottom that says, if you like this movie, they you'll like "Ernest In the Army."

I cannot believe that Pinchot played Laurel. That is just sad.

I assume you're talking about the movie?

Thankfully, it apparently did nothing. Never heard of it until today. I wish I still hadn't.

I was replying to Trooperman. I would have quoted him, but at the time I started typing, his was the only post there. You and I wound up posting at almost the same time so it looks like mine should be a reply to your post. But, alas, it is not.

Here's another fine mess...etc.

If you watch Laurel and Hardy, that's a derrogatory comment Ollie always makes to Stan.

Meant to be a joke

But gosh, this new movie sounds really bad. I'm glad I haven't seen it.

I never liked laurel and hardy too much... I watched very few films of them... I prefer Chaplin's early stuff, or Harold Lloyd, or Buster Keaton.

I don't like Buster Keaton because George Lucas has said that he inspired the character of Jar-Jar.

Jar Jar is NOTHING like Buster Keaton...

Jar Jar Binks is like... an early 70's Hanna Barbera cartoon character with an anoying voice...

Still furthering my Star Wars/Scooby Doo theory...

Jar Jar looks like a Hanna Barbara cartoon character
He talks in a ridiculous voice like Scooby Doo
The Phantom Menace sounds like an episode of Scooby Doo

Any more?

"So, uh, George, what are you doing?"

"Writing the Episode 1 script... At least I'm trying to, man I hate writing... I could only write 2 pages, and the principal photography begins next week!"

"I see, well good luck on that... Changing topic, look what I've found on the internet, a never-produced script for the original Scooby Doo series, wanna read it?"

"Never produced, eh? Hmnnnn..."

Yeah, I'd have to agree, I was never a big fan of L&H or A&C, but I loved the stooges.

At least the Original Curly years, Shemp and Curly Joe I can't stand.
