Feels like it’s time to check in again on this wonderful project. Would love to be able to share these wonderful shows with my niece!

By now all but 2 or 3 episodes have aired in 720p on the German “Disney Junior HD” channel. Unfortunately all episodes are cropped to 16:9.

But did anyone capture them?

I sincerely hope you’re still going on with this project.

I know it’s been a couple of years since you’ve checked in (or at least posted) but man! - Reading your posts from start to finish was a roller coaster!

Keep up the awesome work!

Wow! just came across this project. I was cleaning out my video cassettes and found that Disney has not released DVD for The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh by 11/08/2017. Keep up the good work! The whole afternoon series had really good shows.

I found on:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Adventures_of_Winnie_the_Pooh

a full wiki and where most of the episodes were released later. I remember you were having trouble with sound and these re-releases on DVD in English can help with that and the higher dvd quality than VHS.

Some WEB-DL torrents of the HD remaster have popped up.
Unfortunately, they are also cropped to 16:9, are sped up in PAL 25fps, and have Russian titles.
They are all 1080p, by the way.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

just did a double take they look cropped as well.

This bootleg looks like a conversion of those Russian WEB-DL torrents.
And there’s a chance the quality could be worse, since Blu-ray can’t support 1080p 25fps, Blu-ray can only support 25fps in 720p or 23.976fps 1080p.
So either he’s lying and it’s actually downscaled to 720p, it’s we get missing frames with converting 25fps to 23.976fps by removing some frames, or it’s actually a proper 25fps to 23.976fps correction.

Either way, I really can’t see how the quality would be that different from the Russian WEB-DL torrents.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

1080p 25fps can be stored as 1080i50 in psf mode

This is why i don’t watch bootlegs, I rather watch a the TV show in open matte And NTSC Slowdown Form on USA VHS or Laser-disc Releases, And Laser-disc is a higher quality than VHS.

Is there a masterlist somewhere of what episodes are on DVD, VHS, and Laserdisc?

Disney Plus, Sorry About The Raw Photo Capture.

My guess is that the title was added on video for both the original production and HD remaster and they weren’t careful in matching the original font.

And Especially The Pile Of Dirt With The X Marks The Spot On It Is Different In The HD Remaster.

Currently watching The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh on Disney+. Most of the episodes on there are in HD and in 4:3, which is a pleasant surprise because the other remastered late '80s/'90s Walt Disney Television Animation shows are only in cropped 16:9.

I should also note, though, that some shots do appear to be slightly cropped on at least three sides of the frame compared to the SD masters (this makes for some odd framing issues) - any idea if the 16:9 crops mentioned above preserve what’s been cropped away from at least the left side?

From what I can tell, all English & German episodes are in stereo.

From what I can tell, most English episodes (“Pooh Oughta Be in Pictures” to “Pooh Skies”) are in mono and the rest (“To Bee or Not to Bee” to “Owl’s Well That Ends Well”) are in stereo. Have the former set of episodes been released or broadcast anywhere in stereo?

I know the show is on Disney Plus now, but I’m making my own DVD set of this show as well. I’m only interested in English and I want to preserve it in SD. Call me crazy, but I prefer to keep SD TV shows in the format they were originally broadcast. So no HD for old shows for me. I’m using the official DVD releases for most segments. A few were only on PAL DVDs that I’ll convert to NTSC. If they weren’t released on DVD at all, then I’ll use the Laserdisc release. Most episodes were released on either LD or DVD (or both). I’ll use the official VHS release if there was no DVD or LD release. Many of the Laserdisc rips are up on Archive.org, however, a few are not. Does anyone have these Pooh Laserdiscs?:

Everything’s Coming Up Roses / Pooh to the Rescue
Helping Others / Growing Up
King of the Beasties/ Sky’s the Limit
Wind Some, Lose Some / All’s Well That Ends Well
Birds of a Feather

There were only four segments that weren’t released on any home media format:

Fast Friends
To Bee or Not to Bee
Sorry, Wrong Slusher
Groundpiglet Day

There were also four 30 min (with commercials) specials which I consider to be part of this show as well. Only “Christmas” is actually recognized as part of the show, however.

Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too
Boo to You Too! Winnie the Pooh
A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving
Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine for You

“Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too” was released on Laserdisc and is up on archive. It was also “remixed” into the DVD movie “Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year” with some changes and redubs. “Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine for You” was released to DVD as aired, thankfully.

“A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving” (along with “Groundpiglet Day” and “Find Her, Keep Her”) was remixed into the DVD movie “Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving” and can be patched back into normal episodes/ segments for 90% of the footage. S
“Boo to You Too! Winnie the Pooh” is on DVD as part of “Winnie the Pooh: Pooh’s Heffalump Movie”, but it’s also on UK DVD as originally aired.

Super interested if this project was ever completed or someone has the eps available. Can’t believe these still haven’t been released on hard copy yet.
