Family Guy ending for ANH

 (Edited)

Did anyone watch it last night? The ending of Family Guy spoofed the entire last minute of A New Hope, with Chewie and everything. It was awesome.

Mm... 64 slices of American cheese.

I thought that was the Simpsons episode that did that. Though I was pretty tired last night.

It was Family Guy. I've got it on tape. Peter was receiving a medal for saving the life of the bartender at his fave bar from a fire. All the people were standing off to the sides of the sidewalk going up to City Hall just like all the Rebel troops. Then he was presented with his medal and posed just like at the end of ANH. Chewie, R2, and I think Threepio were there. There may have been one or two others. I'd have to check it again to know for sure.

Don't forget that the entire end credits of the show were done just like a SW movie. Same font, color, starry background, and John Williams' music.

That's right. It's the episode where he eats all those nickels and goes blind. Good stuff.

Yep, that's the one.

I was surprised they could use the exact music (because of copyrights and everything). Then again, the show is made by 20th Century Fox.

PS. I loved the part where Peter faced off with the chicken again. They fought for like ten minutes!

yeah! and the ending of the chicken fight was the same one with Indiana Jones with the big Nazi guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I don't like Family Guy, but my friends have told me about that. Sounded pretty funny. I think they said that Chewie complained that he didn't get a medal.

I must have missed the chicken fight from the original run of the series. Anyone remember which episode it was in?

I had it on my DVR and didn't get to watch it until today, and I loved it.

It just goes to show that sometimes you can bring back a show and not have it be a flop.

The original chicken fight was in the season two episode "Da Boom."

Maybe George Lucas should take a lesson from the creators of Family Guy.

Family Guy = the shit. I happily signed the petition when it went off the air, and have since been happy that the DVDs, Cartoon Network syndication, and re-release with new episodes came about.

Giggety giggety goo.

Gracias. I own the DVDs and am about 90% of the way through them. I will have to make sure that I check that one out. My wife and I were both confused as to why the fight was happening this past week. I knew something about it since they are producing an action figure playset of the two fighting, but I was still unsure of the context of the diorama.

They cancelled Family Guy a couple years back and all was wrong with the world. A bunch of fans showed their loyalty by signing petitions and basically bitching over the internet. As a result, reruns were syndicated on Cartoon Network and DVDs were released for the first few seasons. After a slew of DVD sales and huge ratings on Cartoon Network, Fox signed them back on to create more episodes and all was right with the world again.

As of right now, Family Guy DVD sets are the best-selling TV DVD sets ever. Chappelle's Show is #2, Simpsons #3, and Seinfeld #4. However, with the release of season 4 yesterday, Seinfeld is likely to take over the #1 spot. If Fox would get off their ass about releasing Simpsons season sets, they could easily take #1. Screw the extras, just release the episodes, dammit.
