That’s a good point, indeed. However, the plan for the Imperial fleet was to prevent retreat too, so while some Rebel ships might have escaped, I suspect most would have been destroyed or captured anyway. Still, the interdictors would cut into the heroism, as the would be no option but to fight, so maybe you are right.
