I just saw Godfather 3 other day on AMC. It had an alternate beginning. The beginning showed scenes from the other 2 movies, sort of letting the viewer know what happened so far. I have the DVD and Blu ray of the movie, that is not the beginning of the movie on the discs. It also not the alternate beginning included withe the extras on the disc. Was this something AMC created or what? Anyone know anything about this?
It was there on VHS, IIRC. It was possibly chopped from the DVD release because the buyer probably has the other two. Flashback openings were a regular thing before home video became popular. The Rocky series, for instance.
