I don't think there is anything wrong with 'hero worship' (though worship is a bit strong for *anything* to my mind) but what I hate is the fact that it seems the people being worshiped these days are the wrong sorts: sports stars, musicians, reality tv 'stars' and celebrities of any sort who are being 'worshiped' because they got some press time and now make more money than they are worth.


Yes. As a Christian, I'm wary of paying too much heed to anyone/thing the way some people do. I agree with you 100%. Too often the people who are serving as "role models" in this day are not worthy of the name. People who have young kids are having a much harder time these days with trying to provide good example for their children. My wife and I have, believe it or not, turned to comic books, where there are still heros of the type kids can look up to, thankfully.
