Disney isn’t planning a Rogue One special edition’:-

You may as well quit waiting for deleted scenes now.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be out on DVD and Blu-ray at the beginning of April, and although it will have plenty of bonus features, there won’t be any deleted scenes among them.

And if you were holding out for a second, special edition release – possibly containing some of the footage that didn’t make it into the final cut – you’re likely to be disappointed.

“There’s no plans right now,” said Gareth Edwards when Digital Spy asked about possible alternate releases in the pipeline.

“That’s what I’ve heard. There’s nothing down the line, no.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – which was initially released on DVD and Blu-ray in April 2016 – also received a 3D version in October. That second release featured even more deleted scenes, as well as a director’s commentary from JJ Abrams.

Rogue One will be available in 3D from the get go, and it looks like, along with those fabled deleted scenes, it will be missing a director’s commentary.

The expectation surrounding the deleted scenes has been greater than usual due to the large amount of footage in Rogue One’s trailers that never made it into the final cut.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on April 10.
