I like Electronic, but my enjoyment is always subdued by thinking “Johnny left the Smiths for this?”
(Ok, so Johnny didn’t leave the almighty Smiths to join Electronic, but it was the next musical thing he did.)
He also joined The The around the same time ('88?) mate - not counting his very brief time with The Pretenders just before that.
