Then I learned about the Alienware Star Wars Edition PCs. Now I'm tempted to get a new PC now.
But I cannot decide.

For about $550, I can get a custom machine from CyberPower Systems that is, in theory, equivilent to the power of the baseline Alienware.
(I say in theory because all the numbers...processor speed, Ram, video card type, etc would be roughly the same).

The Alienware starts at $1499, but the added perk is the sweet-looking case, hyperspace subscription, complete XP skinning, various soundtracks and the rest of the Star Wars package, whatever all of it is plus the Alienware brandname.

Is it worth $1000 extra? That's what I'm asking myself.

when i first looked at them i thought, perhaps. But after about 10 more seconds i was back at a definate no. I would be different if the case was a darth vader helmet, r2d2, or somehting to that effect, but its just some cool graphics and icon, not worth a cool grand in my mind...
