But do the Master Replicas have the 'growing' effect in the tube? I've seen these things up close and they are actually really good.

thats cool, the prevew video is neat.. but some non-fans may freekout when they see that fake hand falling to the ground at the end of the video, thinking its a Real Saber!

but at just over 160 bucks I would hope it would not break under combat use with another. Its cool for a star wars party or halloween.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

I have the master replicas ANH vader force FX saber & it does indeed extend out & return into the handle. (the light does, not the actual tube) plus it is almost identical to the screen version (save for the speaker holes in the bottom, but even those are molded to blend in so they're hardly noticable). It is absolutely incredible! easily the closest thing to a real saber. & i got it at a retail outlet (Borders bookstore) for $99. Much better than $160.... Oh, & incase you didn't know, the sabers on that site ARE the Master Replicas ones. MR has made quite a few different versions, but each one has only been produced for a brief period. The Luke ROTJ saber is one of the hardest to find. & from what i understand, the ANH Vader saber has been discontinued, but they now offer the ESB Vader saber & will soon offer a ROTS Vader saber.

My freind has both the Luke 'Green' saber and Vaders ANH.
That's when I decided to buy the Blue one. So Cool.!

And yes they are cheaper if you buy direct from MR. But over here in the UK, the shipping and tax costs, more or less double the price. So £99 is a bargain!

What's the difference in Darth Vader's lightsabre between all 3 movies? I've never noticed the handle to see a change.

I have 2 Force FX sabers. I picked up the Luke ESB saber last year at Borders bookstore and I just got the newer Vader ESB saber last week.

Both are extremely realistic with digital sound and yes, the light effect does extend out from the hilt when you 'fire it up'.


...and if the guy in that picture holding his saber is a nerd, I must be a very big nerd indeed.

I just remembered...in the gallery in my signature I'm holding the new Vader Force FX...it was sunny out so it wasn't on, but it is bright enough to illuminate a small room.

...and I actually prefer the "geek" label.

There were hundreds of people with them at CIII, they even had some on sale (only the ESB Luke in any large enough quantity).

Dark One.........

Can I ask you if your Luke saber is a little loose around the hilt??
After a few swings and hits mine has now become just a little loose, and I just need to know for my peace of mind if this is the norm?

& yet Master Replicas themsleves put on a duel with two of their sabers in a demonstration at Celebration 3.....

My ANH vader saber wiggles a bit where the blade attaches to the hilt. (it's most noticable if you shake it or jiggle it fairly roughly). I've never dueled with it, though i have smacked it against people & stuff (c'mon.... they put a "clash" sound effect specifically when it strikes things....) but i've never hit it very hard on anything. Just hard enough to make the sound. It seems like this "play" was probably there from the get go. Built in so that it has a little bit of give b/c they know you're going to hit them on stuff.... but i can't confirm that for sure...

As canofhumdingers has said, you can't help but clash the saber a bit. It does have the sound.

Well from what I've read, most of these sabers start to wiggle in time, especially Lukes!
