I know that a lot of fans who talk about the prequels as though they’re the worst films ever tend to watch them from time to time. I actually don’t think the prequels are among the worst films ever, but I don’t enjoy them at all and I plan on never watching them ever again. If any of you are here, what exactly is the appeal of revisiting and somewhat frequently rewatching films that you can’t stand?
From an academic point of view, if making movies or telling stories is your ambition in life, there is value in studying movies that are “bad”. If you understand how and why they went wrong, you can avoid the mistakes and bad choices that were made by the filmmakers.
I’ve read that Manos: The Hands Of Fate is being used in college filmmaking courses as a textbook example of how not to make a movie. 😉
