Yeah I was getting a little confused over the whole 'making of' discs as well. (scratches head)

There's just SO MUCH good stuff....

Also, I've gone through an addict-like burst of trying to accumulate as many of the OT sets as possible over the last two months- and STILL haven't sat through any of them completely to pick my favorite! Maybe next weekend, when the wife is out of town. Sad that- some guys would beg for their wives to go away for the weekend so they could fool around with someone else... me, I'll probably stay at home and have a Star Wars marathon in anticipation of the new film.... LOL!

Well, here is another long time lurker who just recently joined. I have the current non-anamorphic set and am definitely interested in getting the new one once it comes out. However, I don't have the ability to download and burn to dvd so I am hopeful that I'll be able to make a purchase once again on this.

Rik, were those making of´s taken from a laserdisc source or vhs? What is the quality like?

RiK, myself, and a few others can help you out on that when the time comes. Just PM one of us.

I know that Rik just recently obtained The Making of SW and SP FX: TESB transferred from the old DiscoVision laserdisc. The quality is excellent. A definite step up from the VHS transfers we've seen in the past.

YES I did - My first version was on 4 discs (on doc per disc) used the same LD BUT a weak Dazzle DVC-USB capture device was used (the picture was very soft and with no finer details )

But this second version* I just did (authored - not transfered) was aquired in a trade (off forum I think - so many trades I forget the traders - sorry guys) but DAMN they are nice!!!!!!

They came with no menu or NFO information so I made them with menus that match the "When Star Wars Ruled the World" DVD I posted on myspleen

* = (this is really the third version as I HAD a set from a transfer that P-dogg did with his mac from the LD, but with a black menu that matches the covers I did - only about 6 of these went out I think so look at them as "limited editions" )

I have the 4-disc non-anamorphic "TR-47" set which I aquired via a donation directly from TR-47. This set is absolutely amazing and I can't wait for TR-47/Cowclops v2.0! I don't mind downloading it but I would much rather make a donation in exchange for a set. I've been a long time reader on this forum but this is my first post. Just wanted to say I can't wait for the set and hopefully I can be one of the first to get version 2.0. Keep up the fantastic work everyone, there is a whole community of people that really, really appreciate your fantastic work on the preservation of these movies as they should be.

I chatted with Cowclops last night and he said he will try to complete the set in time to coincide with the May 19th opening of ROTS. I'll keep everyone informed of the progress.

Another longtime lurker officially joining (and this is my first time on any web forum, so please forgive newbie mistakes). I was considering buying a laserdisc player just to watch the original trilogy, and then I stumbled upon the TR47/Cowclops DVD transfers. Can't wait to see the new ones! Kudos to TR47, Cowclops, and all others who work to preserve the True Original Copies. Han Shot First!

Cowclops or TR47,

Have you seen the EditDroid version??? If the new Cowclops set is as good or better...WHOOO!!! WHOOO!!!

My complaint w/ the EditDroid set is that the subtitles are all gone. I do not speak Huttese so I need the subtitles. Also, I have a widescreen set so I would like the subtitles in the picture and not in the black area.

BTW, everyone should check out the comic strip Heart of the City at ucomics.com. Major Star Wars references lately. The author clearly knows his Star Wars lore. Very cool. Fox Trot also had some good Star Wars stuff last week.

Please keep this thread on topic-post these sorts of comments elsewhere, mathpoet (and the others above). I haven't seen the Editdroid set, so I can't say if it's better or worse. I do know the audio was compressed, which for me is more important than anything else. I realize it was necessary to fit multiple audio tracks onto a DVD5 but it limits my interest in it.

Boy TR47 you are a troublemaker. I'm sure CC loves you.

I'm not trying to cause trouble, just get an answer. Few things piss me off more than messaging someone who you know is there and they ignore you.

Yeah, well so much for the DVD's being ready for release the same day as Ep. III.

Well i think we should applaud cowclops for making a good show and effort to get it out by the ep. III release but snags and life comes up. I am sure he will pull through and its not like lucas is going to give us anything near what cowclops is putting together anytime soon. As they say "patience young padawan"

No I agree, I'd rather it be right than fast.
I mean how many versions of the OT can you own... (don't answer that.)

I'm just as excited as the next guy to get the OT in lovely anamorphic widescreen but I've waited this long and can wait a little longer for a perfect copy. Cowclops........we're waiting with baited breath. Look forward to your reply. Thanks for the hard work.

That would be the X0 Project, then.

I thought the XO Project was a capture project, not a release. MeBeJedi and Zion are releases based on that (unless things have changed).
