There is literally nothing to indicate that Disney and Lucasfilm will be releasing the OOT…ever. It is virtually certain that any 40th anniversary special announcement will pertain to the 4k scan of the Special Edition and yet another Special Edition release.
Fox kept the original clippings of the OOT all these years and Mike Verta was requested to have a meeting by officials that were interested in his restoration… but none of this indicates anything.
