So who do we complain to about this heinous revisionism?

Jedit: It’s also false advertising, no?

I suppose. But like I said, I think this was a mistake made by an algorithm. Amazon doesn’t “troll” its customers.

How munch advance notice would a retailer typically get for a release such as this?

I’m not sure. Also, I say that this mistake was done via algorithm because I don’t think there are people at Amazon who manually post each and every listing

It probably depends on the retailer, but I’d imagine it’s quite a bit of notice, especially for a behemoth like Amazon.

Right. But at some point a human must’ve put in that this would be relased, no? And the computer decided when/where to list it.

Probably, that’s my assumption. Keep in mind, and I hate to be a downer, that this very well could be a mistake. Just a mistake, not a leak, not a premature labeling of the product, but a freak accident that is no indication of any release of the theatrical version of Jedi. I don’t think that’s the case, but let’s not rule that out.

What could’ve caused it? Did their algorithm get it mixed up with the GOUT?

Absolutely. But I’m 100% positive that Return of The Jedis listing text was just altered. I’ve been using prime for years and use it daily. I could be mistaken about that of course.

No way, keep in mind that the theatrical versions were just bonus features to the SE in the GOUT package, not to mention that’s really old and has nothing to do with Disney Movies Anywhere. Like I said, I don’t think it was a freak accident that doesn’t imply an OOT release, but I’m saying we shouldn’t rule it out as a possibility.

Also, Amazon lists the ROTJ GOUT as “Limited Edition”.

https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-VI-Limited/dp/B000FQVX78/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1488347490&sr=1-1&keywords=return+of+the+jedi+theatrical

The GOUT was a limited edition release originally, so that’s nothing new

It means that it isn’t labelled as “theatrical”, which is what we’re seeing with the streaming version of Jedi.

Im saying that makes it unlikely the algorithm mistook the digital version for the GOUT, as they say “Theatrical version” as opposed to “limited”

If it’s an innocent mistake and not a leak, then it might have to do with TFA being labelled as theatrical, which is also a bit of a mystery, but one I’m admittedly uninterested in.

But then, TFA is labeled as “Theatrical,” not “Theatrical Version”. It has been listed that way since the beginning.

Well, there are two different versions of TFA

The normal theatrical cut and the 3D version. Perhaps that’s what the distinction is for. To differentiate those two?

Well it’s funny because there’s only one version of TFA, the theatrical one.

Also, RotS is the least altered prequel on video, essentially unaltered on blu-ray from its theatrical version.

So it’s very curious that those are the only other ones to now given “theatrical version” designation.

Especially since it’s safe to bet that that particular purchase of Jedi is not the theatrical version. If anyone wanted to pay for it and check, they’d probably get their money back because of the false advertising. I don’t see any point to that though.

Right. I am certain that all that was changed was the listing title and URL. Doubt that the film ready for stream is the theatrical.

Please do. He won’t reveal anything though, which, to be fair, isn’t something he’s supposed to do.

Someone should also send it to Making Star Wars, maybe that will prompt more detail on his supposed evidence.
