The fact that they’re illegal immigrants. Criminals.
Highlight a few cases of said criminals being sick does not change the fact that they came here illegally and thus fall under the banner of criminals.
If you start picking and choosing who you deem to be worse criminals based on their health, status, etc., you start heading down a slippery slope. Who gets to decide these things? At the end of the day they came here illegally and knew the consequences of being caught. Does the law not apply to them now because they’re sick? Does that mean the law doesn’t apply to actual US citizens if they’re sick too?
What about the ones that can here as kids with their parents? They may not have fully understood what they were doing and the consequences thereof, they just went where their parents were going and did what they told them to do. I think we should at least have some sympathy for them. What about the kids born here of illegal immigrants? They are not responsible for the situation and yet are being separated from mommy and/or daddy. I think we should have some sympathy for them to. However I do think you make a point in that this a society run by law and not by feeling. That is a valid point.
