Yes, if you enjoy watching a movie that ruins Han’s character, that’s cool for you.

I also question how that ruins his character, yet you apparently take no issue with how he’s handled in TFA. I’d argue ignoring an entire trilogy of character development is a bit more severe than him not shooting a gun first. But hey, maybe I’m crazy.
The fact that vaders no ruins the climax of the trilogy is an interesting point I hadn’t considered before.
I agree. All I can think is that Lucas thought maybe the audience didn’t understand that Vader was conflicted during the scene; that it wasn’t apparent enough through his body language.
But that makes no damn sense because the audience had been well aware of that for almost 30 years.
I guess it makes about as much sense as digital rocks that disappear in the next scene.
