I thought it was a fun bit the first time he fired the bowcaster. We had never seen it before and it made sense in the context of the situation

Chewie uses it in ROTJ to take out a speeder bike. And I can’t believe Han never in 40 years asked to shoot it.

I meant that we never saw Han use it before TFA, so it was fun to see it for the first time in TFA.

And I can believe Han would go that long without using it, there was (presumably) never a reason for him to do so. Judging by the original trilogy, none of them ever got shot (except Leia and Luke once each in ROTJ).

In my opinion that was the weakest part of the film. It was just cheesy and out of place in the battle.

I didn’t like it but it’s such a minor thing I wouldn’t call it the weakest part of the film. I’d save that for Starkiller base…or maybe for the destruction of the Hosnian system.

Destruction of the Bosnian system the weakest part? Just because they can see it from Takodonna? I’d say that’s about on the same level as Han using the nowcaster - pretty minor, whether you mind it or not.

[Shrug]

Since I rate TFA third, just behind ANH and ESB, I don’t think anything in TFA is a major weakness. It just bugs me.

But was Archduke Franz Ferdinand killed when the Bosnian System was destroyed?

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Leia never agreed to be trained. Luke was just told to pass on what he had learned. Obviously the assumption was that would be to Leia, but if Leia had different plans - like starting a family with Han - it’d make sense that he might hold off, knowing he could train Ben (and others).

For a time but sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Leia made such a sacrifice in canon and as a result Snoke was found an opening to worm his way in.

And again, we don’t know that Luke didn’t teach Leia the ways of the Force, just that she didn’t become a Jedi (we know at least that she has the power to sense her husband dying on another planet). There’s a lot about this topic we don’t know yet.

I could have sworn I heard somewhere he gave her a beginners course in how to use The Force. Think Luke’s training in SW.

Han and Leia were perfect in TFA.

Leia needed to do more action stuff. Shooting troopers right in the face.

I don’t recall hearing that anywhere, but it seems like a given. Of course Luke would give her basic advice and knowledge about the Force. Her caring to learn much more beyond that, let alone undergo full Jedi training, seems unlikely to me.

"Han and Leia were perfect in TFA"
May be the funniest thing I’ve ever heard someone say right after complaining endlessly about the PT. Perfect blend of hypocrisy and irony. Brilliant.

Has anyone included the Ewok films in their list? That’s be interesting to see.

Are you willing to elaborate on this point or are you going to continue to show us how wounded you are due to us not sharing your opinions?

Late response but I believe they touched on the subject in the Bloodlines novel.

I have elaborated. Many times. As have many other people. Why would I bother doing it again when it’ll just be another three pages of the group of you circlejerking each other?

There’s no point trying to debate any of you because you’re too arrogant to even consider for a second that you might not be the smartest people in the universe.

Not all of us are narcissistic enough to always make every thread about ourselves so I’m not once again having this discussion in an unrelated thread.

I only see one person here making this all about themselves.

I don’t begrudge anyone liking the Disney movies, even if they do suck. It’s their preference. But it does suck to see the same three people, Hasbro, Fink, and DominicanBob policing every thread on the forum in their neverending, tens of thousands of posts crusade to stamp out negative sentiment and criticism of a couple of **** movies. Especially on an OOT forum.

Well Dominic now it’s your turn. Have fun trying to convince people that you actually have gripes with the films.

I mostly just try to stop the neverending bullshit from trolls like you. But you’re right, I feed into it too much.
