Good episode. Enjoyed seeing Zeb on his own, and really liked the design of the infiltrator droid–evoked the look of McQuarie concepts for seethreepio

I’m really pumped about the next two episodes because like I said earlier I’m a sucker for all things Mandalorian and these will be full of Mandalorian lore.

Dave Filoni says had he looked at the schedule and remembered this would have been after R1 came out, he would have made it a K2!

It’s been bugging me that we’ve never seen one up to now and yet they were so prevalent in RO.

Maybe they were decommissioned after the Death Star plans fiasco?

I mean in Rebels, which is all set before RO.

Good point. But I’m sure we’ll see more now.

This latest episode was easily one of, if not the best of the series.

I liked how they went more into the history of the Darksaber. The Mandalorians are somewhat justified in taking it from the Jedi.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

Wow.

One of the best episodes of the series so far, sure.

But I’d argue it is also an example of some of the best Star Wars ever made.

And to think people were ready to jump ship back when Dave made them pacifists in The Clone Wars, and to see the story of Mandalore unfold and come to this point? Dave has written Mandalorians into something so good and so perfect and so beyond what Karen Traviss (or any other writer) ever did when she was ruining them… I had my doubts about Sabine when the series began but I can confidently say that she is one of my favorite Star Wars characters ever written after this.

Every note hit, too. The history and heritage, the samurai feel, Kiner’s amazing score, Kanan’s training, Tiya and Freddie’s acting (holy shit), Sabine’s monologue… I’m having trouble processing it all right now, but I was just blown away. The animation and framing and production of this episode felt like they went just that extra mile, like it was created with reverence. Just… so good.

Such an emotional episode. Just wow.

Just saw the episode.

Where the hell did that come from?

After last weeks episode I was ready to throw in the towel with this series but this episode was simply excellent.

Sabines monologue during the final duel gave me goosebumps and heartburn all at once.

Now we have a three week break … After just taking a three week break … Why so many breaks?

If break length is indicative of the quality of the episodes they can break for as long as they want as far as I’m concerned!

Holy shit. Finally got around to watching the new episode, easily the best episode of the series. The acting and soundtrack were dialed up to 11 and easily carried the episode.

It just dawned on me that Vader’s confrontation with Ahsoka is only 7 years before RotJ. He ages a ton in those 7 years.

I think having the young, unscarred face behind the mask was an artistic license so that we get the emotional response we want from Ashoka.

probably. however that makes me wonder if we will get an ‘event’ that ages Vader at some point in this or another series. (unless there already is a cannon explanation that i don’t know or can’t think of right now)

He doesn’t look like that because he’s old. He looks like that because he was burned alive. That’s the canonical explanation.

Lucas was totally going to replace Shaw’s unmasked scene with Hayden in the 4K version.

Another good episode this week (yesterday). really good story line going on. I do wonder if it bothers anyone to see two non-force users doing decent dueling with lightsabers. It didn’t really bother me, as i think it helps the show, in that it helps to develop the essence of being a Jedi beyond just being good with a lightsaber.

I managed to get through the first season, unfortunately it didn’t stick with me in terms of what character or plot ideas they had at this early stage. I don’t like the animation style either to be honest.

Yeah, I agree. While the plot was kind of predictable, I did like the relationship between Sabine and her mom, interesting to see her brother, the saber fight between Sabine and Saxon was great, and it was touching to see Sabine stay and leave the Rebels (possibly the beginning of the end of the show), which could lead into the next anthology movie.

I’m interested to see what they’ll do next episode with Kallus. I bet the whole thing is just a ruse set up by Thrawn to uncover Kallus’ Rebel ties.

Screw lightsabers, I’ll stick with regular swords. At least they won’t blow up in my face like this franchise has.
