Stunning!
Stunning!
Yep, yep. Perfect. New color reference numero uno.
Wonderful Dre!
Actually had to double take when I saw the shot in Ben’s hut. I’ve never seen the lighting in that scene look so brilliant.

The lighting in Ben’s Hut should be quite bright, and what Dre. has done here looks about right.
Brightness similar to this:
I never knew that a new hope could look this good. Man who slept on the job making the blu ray?
Maybe I missed something, but is there any plan to release this in either apply-the-LUT-yourself-form, or full download release?
Thanks everyone for your kind comments! I’m planning to release both a LUT, and a full download version, assuming someone here can assist me in putting the latter on the spleen… 😃
Any plans about TESB and ROTJ?
Time schedule?
No push, just curiosity! 😃

I haven’t really thought about it to be honest, but maybe it’s worth taking a look…
About time schedule? Are we talking about days, weeks, months… years? 😄 - just to know, I would base a project on these if you have no problems with this.

If I get some accurate color reference frames it shouldn’t take to long. I would say weeks…
Weeks… we could wait… but not 52 weeks, OK? 😄

Dre, your most recent regrade is GORGEOUS. I honestly don’t see a thing I would change.
I attempted a similar process, using the JSC

Somewhere in between your regrade and the above image would be perfect.
dlvh sorry the message was for Swazzy.

Thanks! It seems the JSC may also be a reliable, if not consistent color basis for the OT. This is what I managed to pull from ESB:

Once again I don’t know how accurate this is to the original photography (I believe the consensus is that Hoth was always on the blue side), but I’d certainly have no complaints if the Blu-ray releases had looked this way all along (perhaps without all the compression artifacts 😄).
Somewhere in between your regrade and the above image would be perfect.
I’m not sure if you mean inbetween the untouched JSC and my grade, or my grade and Dre’s grade, but either way I understand.

Swazzy’s Empire screengrabs look good. Rolls a bit of the ‘home video’ sheen off of the JSC. I think Yoda should look a bit more…green tho.

the image you made the comparison too. you see your regrade is too bright.
Here are a few more examples of close ups (top GOUT, bottom regrade):
Gamma levels are PERFECT Dr Dre! I pulled 4% from the mid green channel to see if that made Beru’s hair and Ben’s beard more natural:

Looks great, but the technicolor prints are green shifted, so more natural may be a bit out of the scope of this project 😉.
