I’m trying to imagine a situation where someone who can’t handle their finances should be allowed to handle a gun.

I mean, granted we don’t know everything about the veteran in the article I linked, but I don’t see why he shouldn’t be allowed.

Again, I agree with the intent of the bill, but I’m not so sure the implementation is as sound as it has the potential to be misapplied.

Trump’s frequent travel belies his repeated criticism of Obama as a “habitual vacationer” enjoying taxpayer-funded golf getaways. It also comes after his own promises: He told the Hill newspaper in 2015, “I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done.”

Presidential families have for decades been guaranteed round-the-clock protection, no matter the expense or destination. Every presidency has brought new operational challenges and lifestyle habits, from George W. Bush’s frequent stays at his remote ranch in Texas to Obama’s annual trips to Martha’s Vineyard and his native state of Hawaii. Judicial Watch estimated Obama-related travel expenses totaled nearly $97 million over eight years.

But based on the first four weeks, Trump’s presidency appears on track to cost hundreds of millions of dollars more.

The burden is especially acute for the Secret Service, the presidential protection force that has endured years of budget shortages, low morale and leadership shake-ups, including the announcement this week that its director, Joseph Clancy, is stepping down.

Agents are now tasked with guarding multiple homes and protecting Trump’s four adult children, including the globe-trotting sons running the family business and daughter Ivanka, whose family recently moved into a Northwest Washington neighborhood.

“There was an anticipation of how stressful it was going to be on the agency, but the harsh reality is that the stress is just overwhelming,” said Jonathan Wackrow, a 14-year Secret Service employee who served in Obama’s detail and now works as executive director of the risk-mitigation company RANE.

Probably the least insane Trump thing I’ve heard today but even so…

https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2017/02/16/christie-says-trump-made-him-order-meatloaf-meal-together/ocBdUJgphM8lK10xWM6TkJ/story.html

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says President Donald Trump made him order meatloaf when they dined together at the White House this week.

Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, joined Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

The Republican governor said while guest hosting a New York sports talk radio show Thursday that Trump pointed out the menu and told people to get whatever they want. Then he said he and Christie were going to have the meatloaf.

‘‘This is what it’s like to be with Trump,’’ Christie said. ‘‘He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.’’’

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/02/16/chaffetz-seeks-to-charge-ex-clinton-aide-in-email-inquiry.html

The Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, who has refused Democratic requests to investigate possible conflicts of interest involving President Donald Trump, is seeking criminal charges against a former State Department employee who helped set up Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday asking him to convene a grand jury or charge Bryan Pagliano, the computer specialist who helped establish Clinton’s server while she was secretary of state.

Pagliano did not comply with two subpoenas ordering him to appear before the oversight panel. The GOP-led committee later voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.

Earlier this month, Chaffetz met with Trump at the White House and agreed not to discuss oversight. He has rebuffed calls for his panel to look into Trump’s businesses and possible conflicts.

I am speechless.

Jesus Christ why are we still so preoccupied by this whole email thing? Meanwhile even Secretary Mattis says RUSSIA INFLUENCED OUR ELECTIONS.

Who gives a shiiiiiiiiit about Hillary’s emails right now?

Oh right because we have to continue the obfuscation. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

The Washington Times is so great.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/feb/16/donald-trump-schools-dishonest-media-freewheeling-/

President Donald Trump is his own best advocate.

It’s no question that his presidency has been under siege by the liberal media, who have printed reports this week advancing the narrative that his administration is in bed with the Russians. They’ve also complained they’re being ignored, with Mr. Trump only calling on conservative-leaning organizations at his press conferences, and thereby avoiding tough questions.

Not Thursday. Mr. Trump took them head-on. And won.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/feb/16/trump-blasts-media-for-ignoring-early-successes-un/

The White House press corps bristled at the criticism and pounced when Mr. Trump made an erroneous claim that his Electoral College victory was the largest since Ronald Reagan.

In fact, Mr. Trump’s 304 electoral votes were surpassed by the winner in five of the seven other post-Reagan elections.

However, Mr. Trump has regularly made the claim that his Electoral College victory was the largest for a Republican since Reagan, with is closer to the truth. The last Republican with a larger win was President George H.W. Bush, with 426 electoral votes in 1988.

Lies are now “with is closer to the truth.”

Also this was a fun thing that happened:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/16/politics/donald-trump-news-conference-anti-semitism/index.html

In that article they say Trump said:

“you heard the Prime Minister, you heard Benjamin Netanyahu”

…but if you watch the Press Conference, Trump actually said:

“you heard the Prime Minister, you heard… errr… Betinyahu”

If the President can’t remember the name of the Israeli PM a day after meeting him, during a question about antisemitism, don’t help him by correcting his error.

CNN with their FAKE NEWS again. SAD.

To be fair, you’re gonna have to point out what parts of the article are wrong if you’re going to claim something like that.
