New York art dealer Jeffrey Loria who bought the Florida Marlins for $158.5 million 14 years ago wants to sell them to Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared (son-in-law/advisor to the President), for $1.6 billion.
NYP says that Loria may be named as Ambassador to France. Now Kushner’s business partner is backing out saying that he doesn’t want “this unrelated transaction to complicate that process”.
I guess I’m glad that they’re at least pretending that one isn’t related to the other? It’s not like paying 1.6 billion dollars for an under-performing baseball team is a steal. It would look more like the Kushners were bribing Loria to take the job.
And what does it take to become an ambassador? Because he literally was an art dealer who buys now buys baseball teams.
