I have and will always refer to Star Wars as a space fantasy. I just feel that it describes it perfectly. It has too many magical elements for me to consider it to be science fiction.
Didn’t they used to refer to it as a space soap opera!
Space fantasy.
Star Wars is just too rich and diverse to label it that simply. It has about equal amount of sci-fi, adventure, drama, action, war, romance and fantasy. Star Wars is Star Wars.

I agree. All of the Religious, philosophical and historical influences on Star Wars makes it more than just Science Fantasy.

So the First Order is getting a super star destroyer as flagship. But it’s not the same because this time it’s a pure minimalistic wedge!! And Kylo, a Tie Advanced but all-different because it’s pill shaped!
Disney and Kathleen Kennedy seem to be insisting in turning the films of the Star Wars main saga into something as repetitive as any “new” season or episode of Power Rangers
If this keeps going this way, it’s just one more film until I’m claiming for GL to be back.
Are you getting mad about rumors?
You overestimate the secrecy they intend to have on this productions. Most certainly not rumors
And how accurate were they about outfits and ship designs as it pertained to TFA?
It’s almost not fair to compare the two as there was no concept art leak this time around.
Yes let’s start getting mad now about a movie that won’t come out for another 11 months! And let’s get even madder that all we know are little bits of information about ships and nothing about unimportant stuff like plot or characters! Who needs that when you have baseless rumors about inconsequential things?
If the reaction to Rogue One has taught me anything people like shit for different reasons. Plot and characters could be just as important as special effects, costumes or ship designs depending on the person.
And I will never understand those people.
Nor the person on here who said that plot and characters don’t matter so long as there are no PT references in VIII or IX. That’s a level of hatred I cannot wrap my mind around.

Just space opera. IIRC, the term had been around long before Star Wars.
Where were you in '77?
Also just realized I’m wrong and it’s actually 10 months away (exactly). Damn.
If this year wasn’t promising in general in terms of entertainment outside of US politics I would be very irate right now.

If it’s accurate, we may be seeing subtle design tweaks to the Stormtroopers.
Alleged teaser trailer breakdown. (Which is supposed to be unveiled at Celebration in April.) As always, take with a large grain of Sodium Cholride. 😉

End me already. I can’t wait.

LOL! I know the feeling. 😉

That’s how I feel in regards to the second season of Stranger Things.

I dig. The frown is more evocative of the 1977 design.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

I like the change too. Tones down the Duckface syndrome the TFA troopers had.
